How to Add Custom Fonts to Imagitor (Android)
One of the most powerful ways to make your designs stand out is by using unique typography. While Imagitor comes packed with a huge variety of built-in Urdu, English, Arabic, and Google fonts, sometimes you just need that one specific font for your brand or project.
The good news? Imagitor for Android fully supports importing your own custom fonts! Here is a quick step-by-step guide on how to add them to your app.
Step 1: Download your Font
First, you’ll need the font file on your Android device. Imagitor supports standard font formats, specifically .ttf (TrueType) and .otf (OpenType). You can download these from font websites directly through your mobile browser, or transfer them from your computer to your phone’s storage.
(Important Note: Fonts downloaded from the web often come in .zip files. You will need to extract/unzip the file using your phone’s file manager to get the actual .ttf or .otf file before you can import it into Imagitor.)
Step 2: Open the Font Picker
There are two ways to access the Font Picker in Imagitor:
- Method 1 (From Settings): On the main Home screen, tap the Settings gear icon, then select the My Fonts option.
- Method 2 (From Editor): Open a project, add or select a text layer, and tap the Font tool in the bottom menu.
Step 3: Go to the “USER” Tab
At the top of the Font Selection screen, you’ll see a row of tabs categorizing our library (Recent, All, Urdu, English, Google, etc.). Swipe across these tabs until you find the USER tab and tap on it. This is where all your custom imported fonts will live.
Step 4: Import the Font
- Inside the USER tab, tap the Add Font button.
- (Note: If this is your first time, Imagitor will ask for storage permissions so it can read the font file. Please grant this permission.)
- Your device’s file explorer will open. Navigate to the folder where you saved your
.ttfor.otffile (usually theDownloadsfolder). - Tap the font file to select it.
Step 5: You’re Done!
Imagitor will instantly process the file, copy it safely into the app’s internal user fonts directory, and add it to your library.
If you accidentally import a font with a name that already exists, the app will smartly ask you if you’d like to replace the old one. Once imported, your new custom font will always be waiting for you in the USER tab whenever you need it.
Happy designing and experimenting with your new typography!
